Airgas and BAE Systems secure five year supply contract

Pennsylvanian based firm, Airgas, Inc., yesterday announced the signing of a Strategic Agreement with BAE Systems to supply bulk and packaged industrial gas, welding hard goods and related products, as well as personal protective equipment (PPE) products.
BAE Systems is a defence and aerospace company located in the United Kingdom. The supply agreement between the duo will ensure that BAE Systems’ manufacturing locations across the United States are fully equipped. A more general perspective will note that the five-year agreement will constitute part of the Airgas Strategic Accounts program which serves multi-location customers. Pat Visintainer, Airgas Senior Vice President of Corporate Accounts, commented, “Airgas has been providing packaged gases, welding hard goods and PPE safety products to various BAE Systems locations for a number of years.”
Annie Van-Vuong, Strategic Commodity Manager at BAE Systems Inc., responded, “This agreement strengthens our partnership by extending Airgas supply to all three principal operating groups – Electronic Intelligence and Support, Land & Armaments, Programs and Support – with the industrial gases, welding hard goods and PPE safety products they require.” She concluded, “Airgas has the national footprint, comprehensive offering, and supply chain management expertise that will help BAE’S Systems divisions optimise performance.”
BAE Systems is a global defence, security and aerospace company which delivers a range of products and services for air, land and naval forces. Last year saw the Company report sales of £22.4bn, equating to around US$36.2bn.
