Airgas Healthcare has received a 2017 Innovative Technology designation from Vizient, Inc. for its INTELLI-OX™ portable medical oxygen (O2) cylinder.
The designation was based on direct feedback from hospital representatives who interacted with the INTELLI-OX O2 cylinder at the Vizient Innovative Technology Exchange in Denver. This is the first US award received for the INTELLI-OX design.
The INTELLI-OX integrated medical O2 cylinder features an advanced digital gauge to clearly and easily show the remaining time left at a given flow rate. It includes an integrated valve and regulator assembly, lightweight aluminum cylinder as well as visual and audible alerts when the cylinder is nearly empty and needs to be replaced. Measurements are provided in volume, pressure and time increments, simplifying readouts and eliminating guesswork for care providers.
Christophe Tardieu, Airgas Senior Vice-President of Healthcare, Life Sciences and Specialty Gases, said, “We’re proud to be recognised by Vizient for our innovative INTELLI-OX cylinder design. In addition to its proven reliability, our INTELLI-OX cylinders optimise the use of each cylinder to reduce turnover frequency.”
Debbie Archer, Director of Procurement and Vizient Innovative Technology Programme Leader, added, “Based on feedback from attendees at the Vizient Innovative Technology Exchange, it was determined INTELLI-OX should be recognised with an Innovative Technology designation. This designation will be noted in our online member contract catalog. Congratulations to Airgas Healthcare on receiving this status.”
