Airgas has created a new dedicated healthcare brand to reinforce its position in the US healthcare and life sciences markets.
Termed ‘Airgas Healthcare,’ the new branch will draw upon the integration of the healthcare and life sciences activity of both Airgas and Air Liquide Healthcare in the US to position the company as a leader in this field.
A statement from Airgas indicated that the combination of both companies’ expertise means that Airgas Healthcare will offer “unrivalled access to the most comprehensive range of medical gases and related products and services.”
The specialised branch will combine the expertise and innovation from Air Liquide Healthcare with Airgas’ extended supply chain and strong local customer proximity to deliver unmatched value to healthcare and life sciences customers. It will offer a comprehensive range of gases, gas supply modes, gas delivery systems and related safety products for the sector.
Airgas commands an unmatched national presence in the US, operating nearly 350 medical gas fill plants and owning more than 1,100 location nationwide.
According to gasworld Business Intelligence, sales of medical gases in the US amounted to around $2bn in 2015, which translated into 10% of the total industrial gases business in the country.
As James Barr, Senior Business Analyst, signified, “Air Liquide’s Americas Healthcare segment witnessed strong growth over the past two years and was up over 5% in Q4 2016 financial results, thanks in part to the integration of Airgas.”
