Amec Foster Wheeler, an oil and gas engineering company, has been awarded a contract to supply a steam reformer heater to a hydrogen (H2) production unit in Russia.

The UK-based business will engineer and construct its proprietary Terrace WallTM reformer technology to the JSC Orsknefteorgsintez refinery in Orsk - one of the leading refineries in Russia.

The heater will form part of a new H2 production unit being installed at the site which, when completed, will produce a capacity of 75,000 Nm3 per hour.

The reformer is scheduled to be completed by 31st March 2017. Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.
