Praxair, Inc. has formally announced that Anne Roby is to become the President of Praxair Asia.

Roby, who currently works as the President of Praxair Electronics, will now be responsible for the growth and profitability of Praxair’s industrial gases business in China, India, South Korea and Thailand.

Roby will now occupy both roles, retaining responsibility for the global electronics business in addition to overseeing Praxair Asia. Ricardo Malfitano, Executive Vice President for the firm is convinced of Roby’s suitability for the new role.

He commented, “Anne’s extensive knowledge of Praxair’s business and capabilities, along with her proven leadership abilities, puts her in a strong position to continue to deepen Praxair’s presence in the important Asian economy.”

Roby benefits from over twenty years of experience with Praxair, having joined the firm in 1991. By 1996, she had succeeded to the position of Global Marketing Manager for Chemicals and Refining.

Likewise, it was with swift and assured progress, that she excelled in the firm to the role of Vice President of the US South Region. The position involved responsibility for business in a seven-state area that included many of Praxair’s major chemicals and refining customers.

Perhaps unsurprisingly it was within three years that she was appointed Vice President of Global Sales for Praxair, Inc. Latterly, Roby succeeded to her current position of President of Praxair Electronics in 2010.
