Atlas Welding Supply has said that it will pick up any unused face masks and donate them to local health centres in the Alabama area to support medical professionals during the coronavirus pandemic.
The company started up the service after realising a need and an opportunity to connect those with a supply of face masks with the frontline medical professionals who a lacking personal protective equipment.
“As a supplier of safety equipment and supplier of medical gases in Alabama, we wanted to do our part to support our customers, community, and local healthcare providers in these unprecedented times,” Patrick Visintainer, Sales Representative at Atlas Welding Supply, tells gasworld.
“We are simply serving as the middleman to pick up the supplies and deliver them to local healthcare centres. We can’t do it without the support of customers’ donations.”
Atlas Welding Supply has said that is available to pick up supplies throughout the state, covering a large part of Alabama, to donate to the nearest healthcare centre. Those looking to donate should contact Patrick Visintainer, the company’s Sales Representative.
“We plan to continue the initiative as long as we have customers donating supplies and healthcare providers in need. As a supplier of safety equipment, we have also been able to supply gloves and face shields to those in need.”
Following the CDC recommendations, Atlas Welding Supply has made an effort to educate customers on safe practices and reminds medical customers to frequently decontaminate their cylinders.
