Air Liquide’s subsidiary, AXANE, has tested its fuel cell at a French ski resort.

AXANE, in partnership with EDF, has tested its fuel cell at the Autrans ski resort in the French Alps, to light a cross-country trail.

AXANE’s 2.5kW fuel cell made it possible to supply electricity to a loop of the ski trail without any emissions polluting the totally isolated site.

The use of a fuel cell supplied with hydrogen is a clean alternative for producing electricity on isolated sites of the network.

The technology has already been successful in supplying mobile telephone relay stations.
