The Norwegian city of Bergen is set to get its first hydrogen (H2) refuelling station as Nel Hydrogen Solutions, a division of Nel ASA, has been contracted by Uno-X Hydrogen AS to deploy its H2Station® technology there.
Uno-X Hydrogen was granted a multi-million-dollar H2 infrastructure deal worth NOK 19.8m ($2.5m) in October to expand the country’s H2 network.
As part of the country’s infrastructure development, this new site is the first of two H2 fuelling stations to deployed in Bergen. It will be delivered in the second quarter of 2017.
“This brings us one step closer to enabling H2 transportation between all the major cities in Norway”
Jacob Krogsgaard, Senior Vice-President, Nel Hydrogen Solutions
Jacob Krogsgaard, Senior Vice-President of the Norway-based business, underlined the importance of this development and stated, “This brings us one step closer to enabling H2 transportation between all the major cities in Norway.”
“In addition, there is a strong regional demand for H2 solutions in Bergen, where H2 cars have already been deployed and are simply waiting at the harbour for fuelling stations to be finalised.”
Since 1996, the Tshwane-based specialised engineering company, RTS Africa Engineering, has had the sole agency to represent Nel Hydrogen, a Norwegian company which has been at the forefront of hydrogen (H2) production through water electrolysis since the 1920’s.
