BOC has added Merriam-Graves, one of New England's largest privately held distributors of industrial, medical and specialty gases, to its nationwide network of independent distributors.

Kit Wakeman, president of Merriam-Graves, said his company selected BOC based on a host of value-added offerings such as its strategically located air separation units, its progressive energy management program, its commitment to the independent distributor and the quality and breadth of the people who work in the company’s distributor program.

He said: “This is a company we felt we could grow with and work with for the long term. BOC’s supply reliability, safety and bulk selling training programs will provide our company with a considerable advantage. We have also been focused on growth since the beginning.”

Wayne Koch, vice president of sales in the Northeast for BOC, said: “Our distributor program is the longest running in the industry. It is a key area of focus for us and one that we will continue to expand and develop. Our partnership with Merriam-Graves broadens our capabilities in New England and validates our commitment to all of our independent distributor partners.

The Charlestown-based Merriam-Graves, founded in 1925 employs 200 people in 22 locations throughout New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut and eastern New York, and has a fleet of 80 trucks and a state of the art computerised and palletised fast-fill production plant.
