BOC India inaugurates new ISP Operations unit

BOC India Limited, have launched a new Industrial and Special products Operations unit at Taloja, Mumbai.

The facility features cylinder handling by means of pallets, which is reported to be one of the safest methods used in cylinder operations around the world. The production line is controlled through PLC-Programmed Logic Controller. The plant also boasts a “Clean Room” for Medical Oxygen filling, the first of its kind in India.

Taloja is the second plant built to meet the requirements of BOC India’s power zone. The cylinder filling facility has cost over 30 million rupees ($650,000 US dollars) to build. It will produce Compressed Medical Oxygen, Compressed Argon/Argoshield and Compressed Nitrogen in the first phase. The production capacity of this plant is 120,000 nm3 per month. In the second phase, the product range would be extended to special gases as well.
