BOC Kenya has announced a Sh108 million after tax profit for six months ending 31 March 2006.
This was a 21 per cent increase from Sh90m posted during a similar period in the previous financial year. Managing director, John Kariuki, described The Standard newspaper that the performance was satisfactory against the massive drought and high oil prices during the period.
"We benefited from increased economic activity from new businesses across the region and our turnover achieved a growth of 15 per cent as a result of improved performance in industrial gases, healthcare and LPG product lines," he said.
"We also realised improved performance in Tanzania arising from establishing a sales depot in Dar es Salaam, which is now fully operational," Kariuki added.
