The BOC group who has supplied the NHS with medical gases for nearly 50 years, continues to strengthen its position in the private health care sector by signing another deal with BMI Healthcare.

The three-year deal with BMI Healthcare will see BOC continue to supply medical gases, such as oxygen, Entonox and nitrous oxide, to the companys hospitals across the country. BMI Healthcare has nearly 50 acute hospitals serving the needs of the local communities and is the one of the largest independent providers of these services in the UK.

Peter Evans, BOC Medical's major accounts manager, said: \\$quot;BOC has been a supplier to BMI Healthcare for nearly 20 years and the relationship has developed in the past two years through the work of our medical account managers. The success of this agreement testifies to the strength of the relationship and of the BOC account team.

\\$quot;BMIs confidence in BOC as a service provider is demonstrated, by the fact that BMI was the first to take on a single simple monthly invoicing option and were also the first to adopt the new generation of BOC integral valve cylinders.\\$quot;

Sally Bennett, head of purchasing for BMI Healthcare, said: \\$quot;In the past twenty years, the relationship with BOC has continued to grow and strengthen.\\$quot;

BMI Healthcare and BOC Medical are working together to convert all its UK hospitals to liquid supply of medical oxygen from cylinders. So far, nearly two thirds of BMI's hospitals have been converted.
