Burckhardt Compression, a Switzerland-based gas compression solutions company, has released its half year results which highlight higher order intakes and sales for the business.
Order intake and sales for the first half 2019 were higher compared to the same period from the previous year. Operating profit and net profit were also sharply higher year-on-year.
Group order intake for the first half of the 2019 fiscal year increased 8.7% from the prior-year period to CHF 329.5m ($332m).
Consolidated Group sales of CHF 276.2m ($278m) for the first half of the year surpassed the figure for the prior-year period by 7%.
First-half sales in the Systems Division amounted to CHF 172.6m ($174m), an increase of 8.9%, and in the Services Division, sales increased by 4% year-on-year to CHF 103.6m ($104m).
Consolidated gross profit for the first half of the fiscal year amounted to CHF 64.8m ($65m), resulting in a gross profit margin of 23.5%.
Gross profit in the Systems Division amounted to CHF 16.4m ($17m) and the corresponding gross profit margin was 9.5%.
Gross profit in the Services Division rose from CHF 43.5m ($44m) to CHF 48.4m ($49m) and its gross profit margin rose from 43.7% to 46.7%.
Burckhardt Compression confirms a full-year guidance of CHF 600 to 640m ($604m-$645m) in sales and slightly higher margins.
