Burckhardt Compression completes Process Gas Compressor delivery to Air Liquide’s Rotterdam hydrogen plant.
During Q3 of 2008, a subsidiary of Air Liquide Group, Lurgi GmbH, chose Burckhardt to deliver three Process Gas Compressors. The Netherlands delivery took place in April of this year.
The compressors will be used to maintain the hydrogen pipeline pressure at 100bar, while the plant will be connected to Air Liquide’s Northern European hydrogen network. This network includes eight hydrogen generation units and over 900km of pipeline.
The 2008 decision hinged on a life cycle cost analysis of several suppliers, which indicated that Burckhardt Compressors would minimise operating cost and maintain a reasonable meantime between overhaul whilst ensuring reliable equipment.
