Compressor system manufacturer Burckhardt Compression has announced the appointment of its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and member of the Executive Management, Vanessa Valentin, later this year (1st August).

The Swiss Valentin - holder of a Master’s in HR from the London School of Economics - is due to succeed Sandra Pitt, who left the company at the end of December 2021.

Having worked across the globe for leading industrial companies such as General Electric and Alstom Thermal Power, Valentin is set to bring ‘many years’ of HR experience to her new role.

Commenting on the new hire, Fabrice Billard, President Systems Division, designated CEO as of April 1st, 2022, said, “Vanessa Valentin is a proven HR leader with experience in organisational and cultural developments of companies.”

Following her involvement with various recruitment programmes and roles in company mergers and various strategic HR projects, Valentin’s most recent position saw her as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources and member of the Group Management Board at VAT Group.

During her tenure she established the HR processes required for the company’s post-IPO in 2016.

“We are convinced that she will significantly support Burckhardt Compression in its further growth,” added Billard.
