The Carbon Capture Coalition has welcomed Calpine Corporation as a Coalition Participant.
Headquartered in Texas, Calpine is one of America’s largest generators of electricity from natural gas and geothermal resources with operation in competitive power markets.
The company’s fleet of 77 power plants, including one under construction, represents over 26,000 megawatts of generation capacity. Through its wholesale power operations and retail businesses, the company serves customers in 23 states, Canada and Mexico.
Calpine’s fleet uses advanced technologies to generate power in a low-carbon and environmentally responsible manner. They are supportive of carbon capture technology as an important part of a set of market-based solutions to address climate change.
