CarbonCure Technologies is expanding its export footprint in the greater Chicago area.
The company announced it has signed a deal to supply three more of the concrete plants in the area run by Ozinga, a fourth-generation family-owned business providing concrete, materials, energy and logistics solutions.
CarbonCure’s retrofit technology chemically sequesters waste carbon dioxide (CO2) during the concrete manufacturing process to make greener and stronger concrete. The company is part of a growing industry of CO2-utilisation technologies that are expected to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions by 15% by 2030.
Paul Ozinga, Executive Vice-President, said, “The partnership with CarbonCure has helped us gain recognition for our environmental initiatives, while also improving our bottom line. Since installing CarbonCure’s technology, we’ve become known as the green concrete provider in the Chicago area, which has helped us secure specifications for new green projects.”
