Carburos Metálicos, Spanish industrial and medicinal gases company and part of the Air Products Group, provided a training course on the management of medical gases in hospitals for engineers, technical professionals and hospital maintenance personnel.
The course, ‘Management of Medical Gases in Hospitals’, served to publicise the requirements for the design of medical gas installations in hospitals, the applicable legislation, CE marking, as well as the maintenance of said facilities. The new medicinal gases available in the market were also addressed, as well as their applications and the specific management requirements.
The course was organised and sponsored by Carburos Metálicos and was taught at the Official College of Industrial Engineers of Madrid over three days in January. The venue hosted 20 engineers from different public and private hospitals within the Madrid community. The course has been endorsed by the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality.
Luis Blázquez, Commercial Director of Medical Carburos, commented, “We have designed this course so that engineering professionals working in the hospital sector update their knowledge about the applicable legislation that affects the development of their designs for this type of facility in a sector that requires the highest degree of reliability and security. It has also served to provide them with a practical knowledge of the medicinal gases currently available and how to administer them so that they can take these particularities into account in the projects they carry out. Carburos Médica contributes in this way to maintain a high degree of efficiency in the work developed by all professionals involved in the management of medical gases in hospital environments. We hope that the success of this first edition serves as the basis to extend this collaboration to other colleges of industrial engineers interested in any other point of the Spanish geography.”
