Cavagna North America will implement a five per cent price increase across all product lines effective 1 November 2005.

The company spokesman, David S. Ellis, explained: “In the past nine months we have experienced historical increases in the cost of energy. This significant pressure, coupled with unprecedented increases in the cost of brass raw material, nearly 20 per cent since January, has outpaced our internal efforts to neutralise cost increases through improved operational efficiencies.

“Unfortunately, we are unable to absorb these extreme increases, and are forced to adjust our market pricing.

“It is our intent to communicate openly with our customers regarding this critical issue, should the situation change and we realise any sustainable decrease in the costs mentioned we will adjust our pricing accordingly.

“These are challenging times in our market and we appreciate our customers continued support and commitment.”
