Chart Chengdu has donated a batch of liquid nitrogen container equipment to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in China.

The Research Base has the largest biological sample bank of genetic resources collected from captive giant pandas in the world.

The cryogenic storage equipment donated by Chart provides support for the research efforts of the programme and a strong guarantee for the protection of genetic resources of giant pandas, as well as promotion of the conservation of endangered animals.

Grady Walker, Western Hemisphere President of the Storage and Transportation Division of Chart Industries, delivered a speech at the donation ceremony in early January.

He said that Chart would donate its independently-developed liquid nitrogen container equipment to the Research Base, thus hoping to contribute to future research and the development of giant panda protection.

Walker also expressed the hope that geographical separation would be ignored in the dissemination of the culture of giant panda, so as to strike a chord among people from different cultural backgrounds in the world.

He expressed the desire that more and more people in various countries would love giant pandas, understand giant pandas and join in the cause of protecting them.

Deputy Secretary Tan Hongming thanked Chart for its strong support to the Base. In his speech, he said, “The donation from Chart is a positive demonstration to every sector of the society, and has made us once again feel the high sense of social responsibility of social enterprises, and also reflects the contribution of Chart to the global panda protection cause.”
