Beijing Peking University Pioneer Technology Co. Ltd (PKU Pioneer) has announced the export of the largest pressure swing adsorption (PSA) equipment ever from China.
India’s leading private sector steel producer, JSW Steel, was the recipient of the oxygen system.
The company signed a contract with PKU Pioneer as it continues to expand its crude steel production capacity, with the latter providing a VPSA (vacuum pressure swing adsorption) oxygen plant with a capacity of 15,000 Nm3/h to a purity of 93%.
The system will be for a retrofit project of JSW Steel’s blast furnace.
VPSA technology was chosen for the project due to its lower energy consumption, more stable operation, and higher return on investment.
PKU Pioneer also pointed out that the energy consumption of their VPSA oxygen equipment has now achieved 0.33kwh/m3 or lower.
Honeywell UOP (UOP) has announced that Zhejiang Petrochemical Co. Ltd. Will use four of its PolybedTM pressure swing adsorption (PSA) units to supply high-purity hydrogen (H2) for its new integrated refining and petrochemical complex in Zhoushan, Zhejian Province.
