National Oxygen Pte Ltd (NOX), a major Chinese gas supplier based in Singapore, has been officially presented with the Minister for Defence Award for its participation in national defence drills, by the Ministry of Defence of Singapore.
The overseas subsidiary of the Taiyo Nippon Sanso Corporation, NOX was given the prestigious annual award for distinguishing itself through meaningful contributions to the national defence of Singapore.
The award scheme, which has been bestowed every year since it was established in 1986, comprises of 3 categories with The Minister for Defence Award the highest ranking of the 3 honours.
The decision to present this year's award was based upon the Singapore government's evaluation of the company's devoted and enthusiastic participation in national defence drills over the past decade, which enabled the Singaporean Navy to firmly establish a system for the efficient supply of liquid oxygen in an emergency.
The awards ceremony was held on July 25th, with NOX president Shigeto Umatani receiving a commemorative trophy from the Minister of Defence, Mr Teo Chee Hean.
