CO2 Solutions Inc. has teamed up with global engineering firm Hatch Ltd. to deliver carbon capture systems using the strengths of both corporations.

Under the terms of the agreement, CO2 Solutions will license its proprietary, environmentally benign, enzymatic technology into large industrial environments. Within these projects, Hatch will provide engineering and project delivery expertise.

In conjunction with this agreement, both parties will work together on the $15m Valorisation Carbone Québec (VCQ) project, which aims to demonstrate carbon dioxide (CO2) capture and beneficial reuse on a large-scale level in an industrial facility. The scheme will also support the development of second generation reuse applications.

VCQ will centre on CO2 Solutions’ enzymatic capture technology and will draw on the most promising reuse applications and development efforts worldwide.

Evan Price, President and CEO of CO2 Solutions, reinforced, “This collaboration with Hatch will be central to the success of our VCQ project and instrumental in building our commercial pipeline of opportunities on a global scale.”

“By combining our technology with Hatch’s expertise, we will be able to accelerate business development and deliver projects to the satisfaction of a broad and diverse customer base.”

Hatch’s CEO John Bianchini added that the collaboration with the Canadian outfit support the company’s own goals in planning, designing and implementing projects that focus on sustainable value creation.
