The Independent Welding Distributors Cooperative (IWDC) presented Grant Cockshott with the the Bob Jackson Memorial Award at the cooperative’s Owners’ Meeting in Lake Tahoe, California, on 23rd to 25th October.
Cockshott, CEO of The Innovair Group, earned the award in recognition for his contributions to IWDC, the industrial gas and welding industry and surrounding province of Manitoba community.
The annual prize is given to a member who has “gone above and beyond” their support of the organisation. Criteria for the award includes strong volunteer spirit, supportive of independents, viewed as a respected leader and engaged in the industry.
The Innovair Group, headquartered in Canada, comprises four operating companies: Innovair Automation, Innovair Medical, Medigas and Welders Supplies, which is the largest independent distributor of industrial gases and welding supplies in Canada. Medigas distributes medical gases and sleep apnea treatment services. Innovair Medical distributes specialised medical devices across Canada, including sleep management products and hospital bed storage systems, among others.
The IWDC leverages the strengths of its independent welding distributor members across North America. IWDC’s 138-member companies collectively represent over $2.4bn in sales, serving a wide range of industries.
