Cost reduction contract agreed

It’s been revealed that the management of chemical company Metafrax has signed a contract for the construction of a new gaseous nitrogen unit with France’s Air Liquide, the supplier of the process design, technology and equipment for the new unit.

Manufacturing and supply is expected to be completed within 19 months and the unit is to be put into operation at the end of 2009, following investment into the project of an estimated at €7m, of which €2.5 million will be invested during 2008.

The project’s primary goal is to reduce power consumption and nitrogen and oxygen production costs.
