Coulson Ice Blast has been named one of the 50 most innovative companies to watch of 2018 by Silicon Review.

The Canadian company has pioneered cost effective, industrial cleaning systems capable of blasting with either ice or dry ice. A two-year-old start-up, Coulson Ice Blast has taken the fast moving, flexible mentality of a tech start-up and applied it to the industrial cleaning industry.

It is constantly looking for ways to improve its technology, experimenting with processes and blast medias, replacing old methods with new. The company hit the world stage last year, when R&D Mag named its first system, “One of the top 100 most technologically significant new products.”

“Our mission is to create great technology that changes the way we clean the world,” said Foster Coulson, Co-Founder of Coulson Ice Blast. “And with the launch of our new IceStorm ice blasting system, this brings us one step closer to our vision.”

“There’s no doubt in our mind that ice is a superior cleaning media. It’s inexpensive, reduces airborne contaminants, makes containment easy… the list goes on.”

“But there’s one area where dry ice can’t be beaten, and that’s in applications like cleaning electrical equipment, where you really need to keep the surface totally dry. So, we figured, why not provide the customer with the most flexible and effective tool possible? You should see some of the things our customers face, it’s a totally different issue every day, with a unique challenge. Why not give them one machine that blasts any ice, anywhere, anytime, capable of handling any situation?”

The Government of Canada’s Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, expressed his congratulations to the company, “I’d like to extend congratulations to Coulson Ice Blast on their recognition as one of the 50 most innovative companies of 2018. Coulson’s IceStorm technology is revolutionising the industrial cleaning industry by harnessing the power of ice and dry ice for more effective cleaning. Coulson’s technology demonstrates how innovative Canadian companies are finding solutions to challenges of all sizes while making Canada a global centre of innovation.”
