Den Hartogh Holding B.V, one of the world’s leading logistics providers of gases and chemicals, has acquired Bulkcon Transport AB.

Joining forces with Sweden-based Bulkon will extend Den Hartogh’s European network in the Nordics and will add to the company’s knowledge and experience of operating in the region.

Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Gothenburg, Bulkcon is a bulk logistics service provider serving the petrochemical and food industry. In addition to international and local transportation, it offers storage solutions in tank containers.

The acquisition is understood to fall in line with Den Hartogh’s business expansion in recent years, after developing its closely-knit European network to facilitate customer demand.

Group Managing Director Pieter Den Hartogh explained, “After many years of successful collaboration with this Swedish partner, we will continue to enhance our activities from the existing Den Hartogh office in Gothenburg. Our combined team is convinced that we can further develop our footpring in the Nordics and increase overall customer satisfaction.”

Thomas Nordbeck, Chairman of the Board of Bulkcon Transport, added, “We consider Den Hartogh’s acquisition to be a very good step in continuing to satisfy our customers’ transport needs in both the European and global markets.”

Financial details were not disclosed. The acquisition was completed on 2nd May 2017.
