Britain’s Dragon liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal has started commercial operations.

Dragon LNG is a joint venture between BG Group (50%), Malaysia’s Petronas (30%), and Dutch company 4Gas (20%).

The terminal, in Milford Haven port, South Wales, received its first commissioning LNG cargo in mid July.

According to Reuters, the new terminal can supply up to 6bn cubic metres of gas a year into the system, and a statement from the terminal’s operator said it has now started commercial operations after its commissioning stage.
