Warren Arenz believes regulations over hazmat materials are contributing to driver shortages for industrial gas companies.
Last month, Vern Ingham of KAG Merchant Gas told gasworld the shortfall in truck drivers was nearly at crisis point and said the job’s lifestyle was a key factor in dissuading younger people to become truck drivers.
Arenz, Vice President of Bulk Distribution, North America at Linde Gas LLC, believes some are also put off by driving hazardous gases. Linde uses truck drivers for industrial, medical and specialty gases product delivery.
