Eco2 looks towards anaerobic digestion

Welsh renewable energy company Eco2 is adding anaerobic digestion (AD) to its portfolio.

AD is a natural process whereby plant and animal materials (biomass) are broken down by micro-organisms in the absence of oxygen. Many different forms of biomass exist and can be used, from food waste to manure, and crops or crop residues in-between.

Although the exact composition of biogas depends on the type of feedstock it is derived from, it generally comprises around 60% methane and 40% carbon dioxide (CO2), as well as traces of other contaminant gases.
