The European Industrial Gases Association (EIGA) has honoured Air Products with several prestigious awards.
The company received a Bronze award, recognising five consecutive years without employee loss-time incidents, at its Wilton plant, where it manufactures hydrogen gas and liquid carbon dioxide.
Highlighting the successful harmonisation of Air Products’ operating standards and EHS best practice globally, EIGA also gave the company’s facility in Zaragoza (Spain) a Gold award, representing an impressive 15 years without lost time incidents.
A further Silver award was presented to its facility in Glogow, Poland, representing 10 years without any lost time incidents or 500,000 employee hours worked.
The company’s sites in Arrigorriaga, Spain and Vilvoorde, Belgium also received Bronze.
Milan Patel, Health and Safety Manager for Europe said, “As a responsible company, our top priority is ensuring Air Products operations comply fully with globally recognised assurances of safety. We are extremely proud of the commitment and focus shown by our teams at all of the sites recognised by EIGA.”
EIGA has also honoured Air Products with its esteemed Annual Road Safety Award for the second time in three years.
The honour recognises the company’s lowest accident rate for cylinder vehicles driven 500,000 to 2,000,000KM in Germany.
“Through comprehensive training, we provide all Air Products’ drivers with the necessary skills and expertise to work safely and prevent risks,” said Kim DelSordo, Air Products’ General Manager for the Northern Continent Packaged Gases.
“Winning this award from EIGA demonstrates that those efforts really are working and helping us set an industry standard.”
