Big change in bulk gases: Cryogenic planning reflects Covid’s long-term effects


As reported previously in gasworld, the coronavirus has had an impact on the global gas industry that has yet to reveal itself fully – this is felt especially keenly in the cryogenics market.

With each new Covid-19 variant and each new spike in demand for medical oxygen, the global cryogenics sector is developing new ways to respond quickly, while also building alliances to cope with the shifting nature of the pandemic and the effect it is having on business.

At FIBA, we noticed the early but distinct shift in customer activity when we received an influx of unplanned vacuum repair orders on cryogenic products.  Cryogenic equipment rehabilitation is performed across four of our US facilities, all ASME-coded shops, which manufacture and repair transportable and stationary cryogenic vessels and trailers.
