The Great Lakes region is a binational Canadian-US stretch centered around the Great Lakes that includes portions of eight US states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin and the Canadian province of Ontario.
The Great Lakes is famous for being the world’s largest freshwater system, containing 21% of the world’s surface freshwater. Around 34 million people live in the Great Lakes basin. This equates to around 8% of the US population and about 32% of Canada’s population.
For this report, we are examining five of these eight states in the Great Lakes – Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin – examining the industrial gas market.
