Where environment meets specialty gases & equipment

0

With the introduction of emission laws, sustainability policies and Net Zero CO2 (carbon dioxide) targets, global awareness of environmental issues has never been stronger. This is especially true for industrial and specialty gases, industries which have found themselves at the very centre of the decarbonisation discussion.

Despite contributing to high emission sectors, the specialty gas sector is also committed to reducing its environmental impact through the replacement and reduction of refrigerants and cutting-edge emissions technology.

Used in all manner of appliances refrigerant gases are notoriously potent environmental polluters. The most commonly used refrigerants, hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) – a type of F-gas – are used in VRF systems, heat pumps, fridges and freezers and vehicle air conditioning systems. If released into the atmosphere through leaky systems or illegally and deliberately vented, HFCs become harmful greenhouses gases (GHGs).
