This morning, Air Products publicised its agreement to acquire DuPont’s stake in DuPont Air Products NanoMaterials LLC JV.
Air Products has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire all of DuPont’s interest in DuPont Air Products NanoMaterials LLC (DA NanoMaterials). DA NanoMaterials constitutes a 50:50 joint venture that serves the global semiconductor and wafer polishing industries.
This acquisition provides additional scale and synergies to our differentiated materials business with Electronics.

Terms of the agreement have not been disclosed but Wayne Mitchell Vice President and General Manager of Electronics for Air Products revealed, “We are pleased to complete the conversion of DA NanoMaterials, and to continue to build on our electronics materials portfolio.”
He continued, “This acquisition provides additional scale and synergies to our differentiated materials business with Electronics.”
DA NanoMaterials manufactures chemical mechanical planarisation (CMP) slurries for the semiconductor and wafer polishing industries. Headquartered in Tempe, Arizona, with regional headquarters in Hsinchu County, Taiwan, the company operates applications and formulation laboratories in Tempe and Taiwan. DA NanoMaterials has established a portfolio of colloidal silica-based products for copper CMP, tungsten CMP and wafer polishing applications.
Air Products, the North American industrial gas entity has announced a plan for two new significant investments in Russia. The proposals compliment the firm’s existing investment impetus towards growth regions.
Air Products has announced the completion of its acquisition of UK company CryoService Limited, which will now be known as Air Products CryoEase® Services. The acquisition follows an initial 25% stake held in CryoService that Air Products purchased in 1998 and a subsequent majority shareholding the company acquired in 2008.
