Tyco International has announced that five global companies have united under one brand to form Tyco Gas & Flame Detection, providing complete gas and flame detection solutions.
Under this new brand, Tyco intends to be the global solutions provider of choice for all entities with gas and flame detection needs.
The combination of four companies under Tyco’s subsidiary, Industrial Safety Technologies (IST), coupled with the gas and flame detection portfolio of Scott Safety will make this new super group one of the largest global manufacturers of innovative gas and flame detection products, with a complete range of solutions and services.
The four other companies involved in this partnership are Detcon, Oldham, Gas Measurement Instruments (GMI) and Simtronics, which are all combined under IST’s umbrella. The launch of this new brand kick-started with Tyco’s acquisition of IST back in February 2015.
Sean Magee, General Manager of Tyco Gas and Flame Detection, stressed, “Our mission is to be the global technology leader and world-class provider of innovative and trusted gas and flame detection solutions that protect people, assets and the environment.”
It is understood that the new corporation will market through two different brands, with Scott Safety maintaining the primary brand for personal protective products, namely in respiratory protection, thermal imaging and personal protective equipment (PPE) solutions for first responders.
Tyco International, headquartered in Ireland, provides state-of-the-art fire detection and suppression solutions to the oil and gas industry, including for tankers and terminals, refineries and petrochemical plants.
