Fluxys LNG terminal converts biomethane into bioLNG

Belgian energy company Fluxys LNG is contributing to the decarbonisation of industry by using its liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal to convert biomethane to bioLNG.

The fuel can then be used to load up to one hundred trucks and two bunker ships. 

The process involves biomethane, as certified by the International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) framework, being converted into bioLNG before being stored in cryogenic tanks, utilising small (re)liquefaction units. 

The company is also offering a temporary subscription window from 9th – 23rd December 2021 for the booking of bioLNG liquefaction services. Customers will be able to book capacity for three years.
