Frank Finger, President - MEGA
Having spent more than 40 years in the industrial gases industry and as the former general secretary of the European Industrial Gases Association (EIGA), Finger is currently the General Secretary of MEGA based in Dubai.
This is a part-time position he has held for almost six years, since being nominated for the role at the first MEGA kick-off meeting in Dubai and after retiring from his Brussels-based EIGA function in 2010.
Most of Finger’s more than 40 years in the industry was spent working at the Messer Group, during which time he switched several times between the technical and commercial sides of the gases business. As a global SHE manager for the Messer Group, he was responsible for the company’s activities in around 50 countries, stretching from South American countries to China.
Later, in his role as general secretary of EIGA, Finger made first contact with a number of gas companies from the Gulf region.
Having grown up in Northern Germany near Hamburg and Bremen, Finger graduated in Mechanical Engineering and specialised in Energy Technology. Away from the office, the 71 year-old is married with two children.

Month on month the gasworld website continues to be the primary portal for information, on a global scale, about our industry - be it through the provision of news and features, or information in the expansive company directory section. Launched in 2004, it is the only independent online news provider and information portal for the global industrial gas community and the larger end-user markets. The website also now incorporates news for gasworld US and Specialty Gas Report.
