gasworld’s Future-Proofing Industrial Gas Operations Summit is underway in Singapore, with discussion and debate surrounding one of the biggest megatrends the industry faces, Industry 4.0 and digitisation.
A visionary audience of more than 130 delegates from 29 countries have gathered at the luxurious Orchard Hotel in Singapore to discuss the whole new wave of growth and development that the industrial gases business sits on the verge of.
Local participation at the event is strong, with over 80 delegates from across the Asia-Pacific region in attendance.
Digitisation and new ways of doing business are challenging the accepted business models in the industry, from the virtual reality (VR) technologies enhancing plant maintenance and understanding to the automation of filling plants, through to growing influence of e-commerce in industrial gas purchasing strategies.
All of which pose questions of the way the industry does business in the years ahead, as well as the human capital at stake and how to effectively reconcile the current core pillars with the inevitable success factors of tomorrow.
This ever-increasing industrial gas revolution in strategies, operations and applications will be discussed throughout the day via a selection of pointed panel session and informed, insightful presentations. Speakers will include:
Linde plc Executive Board Member Sanjiv Lamba is currently on stage providing the opening keynote talk, reflecting on the significance of the change sweeping through the industry and the importance of the Summit in driving much-needed discussion, debate and collaboration around this game-changing topic.
Delegates had earlier seen the following introductory animation to open the Summit.
Session 1 will proceed to explore The Wave of Digitisation, setting the scene for the event and swiftly followed by a Session 2 devoted to all aspects of Operational Change– from practical case studies of industry digitisation and filling plant automation and mechanisation, to the virtual reality (VR) technologies enhancing plant learning and maintenance and the often overlooked subject of human capital and how the role of the human workforce will evolve.
The event will also deliver a final session focused on Future Gas Supply and Demand, exploring future supply chains for industrial and specialty gases, the dynamics in both markets in the Asia-Pacific region and what to expect in the years ahead. The event will conclude with a talk on telematics and how new state-of-the-art technologies are transforming what we knew about distribution and transport fleets.
All of which should enable delegates to leave Singapore with enhanced understanding the trends and technologies likely to shape their business activities and strategies in the future.
As well as a progressive summit content agenda, a table top exhibition programme is enabling further discussion, networking and knowledge sharing of the latest technologies and practices from key product/equipment innovators.
