For the first time in its 11-year history, gasworld conferences stages an event with a theme and agenda devoted to the clean energies transition and two key pillars in particular – the fast-developing hydrogen economy and distributive LNG.
More than 150 key stakeholders in the hydrogen and LNG business will arrive in Amsterdam tomorrow for gasworld’s third European conference, and its first in the iconic city.
Delegates have gathered from 23 countries across Europe and beyond for the progressive event.
Held at the Beurs van Berlage Conference Centre – a defining landmark in the historic city centre of Amsterdam, which used to hold the Dutch Stock Exchange – gasworld’s Europe Conference 2018 will provide insight into the little understood but fast-growing distributive LNG business and the continued ramp-up of the hydrogen economy.
Europe is at the heart of the clean energies transition, with the industrial gas and equipment industry perfectly positioned to play a leading role in enabling a cleaner, greener future for all. Understanding this new business environment and exactly where the challenges and opportunities lie – as well as making the right strategic moves now – will be key to future success and sustainability tomorrow.
“… we’ve had a great reception to the event and expect a strong crowd here in Amsterdam, underlining the verve for clean energies.”
Martyn Hammond, gasworld’s Publishing Director
Under the theme Positioning Today for Tomorrows’s Opportunities, day one of the event will be dedicated to tackling the evolving Hydrogen Economy and what that means in 2018, whilst day two will focus on Distributive LNG and where the opportunities are in this business.
The conference informally begins this evening with a welcome reception and a first look at the 22 promotional booths on show at the event.
Day one of the conference officially begins tomorrow morning, opened by gasworld CEO John Raquet with a significant keynote speech from Pierre-Etienne Franc, Vice-President of Air Liquide Hydrogen Energy WBU, and Secretary of the Hydrogen Council.
gasworld’s new Publishing Director Martyn Hammond will open day two, followed by the official Keynote address from Johann Knijp, Country Manager for DNV GL Oil & Gas in the Netherlands.
Hammond enthused, “I am thrilled to be a part of this unique event and to open day two. Despite the tight turnaround for this conference and how quickly it seems to have come around, we’ve had a great reception to the event and expect a strong crowd here in Amsterdam, underlining the verve for clean energies.”
“Even for a gas novice like me, it’s clear to see that there’s great momentum in hydrogen and LNG today and we look forward to getting to grips with both over the next two days.”
gasworld last visited Europe in 2016 when its industrial gases conference took place in Düsseldorf, Germany. It looked at the challenges and opportunities in the European gases market under the theme of Carving Out Growth.
