The Gases and Welding Distributors Association (GAWDA) will mark its 75th anniversary by holding its Annual Convention online this Friday (25th September), 11am – 12:30 pm Eastern.
GAWDA had planned to stage its Annual Convention at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge in Phoenix, Arizona, but the coronavirus pandemic has seen trade events across the world cancelled since March.
The GAWDA Spring Management Conference, which was scheduled to take place in Austin, Texas, in April, was called off due to coronavirus concerns but the organisation’s Annual Convention will take place as a shortened hour and a half virtual session.
Abydee Moore, GAWDA President, will begin the virtual event followed by association updates, volunteer awards, 2020-2021 slate of officers, CGA (Compressed Gas Association) Distributors Programme and Award update from CGA President Rich Gottwald and an announcement about future meetings in 2022 and 2023.
GAWDA Executive Director John Ospina said, “While we are disappointed that we will not be face-to-face, this year has reminded us of the different ways we can remain connected and bring value to one another.”
GAWDA serves over 550 gases and welding supply distributors, manufacturers, independent manufacturer’s representatives and individual members in North America.
