Germany-based cryogenic vehicle manufacturer GOFA, part of the Chart Industries Group since 2011, has introduced its own service and repair fleet on Europe’s roads.
GOFA is known as a leading manufacturer of gas, dry bulk, as well as tank vehicles and containers.
Now, however, as every minute of downtime during maintenance and repair results in further costs, GOFA has added its own service vehicles to its portfolio. With short reaction times they are always on standby in order to rush to a defective or damaged container vehicle – and, upon consultation, even on weekends.
Ideally, service work will be coordinated within regular downtimes, so that additional downtime can be avoided.
The service vehicles are provided with complete workshop equipment including welding tools, transport lift trucks, power sets, compressors and various pre-finished spare parts. Beyond this, products will be sent by express shipping to the site of operation. Only well trained and experienced vehicle construction mechanics are sent for service work; if extraordinary problems occur, the mechanics benefit from the technical know-how of GOFA’s engineering and will be supported via portable video-conferencing system.
If the repair should not be possible on-site, GOFA provides a collect and return service all over Europe with its own ADR truck or partners, and is therefore able to transfer the vehicle to its workshop – saving the customer time and money.
GOFA has already concluded service contracts with some business partners, enabling them to outsource their own workshop operations, while the company also performs service and repair work on vehicles from other brands in a mixed fleet.
