Gulf Cryo, the industrial gas leader in the Middle East, has appointed Mike Huggon as its new CEO.
Huggon has over 30 years of experience in the industrial and medical gas sectors, and has recently been at the helm of Tier One Linde Group businesses in the UK, Ireland and South Africa.
Lately, Gulf Cryo has focused on expanding its leadership in product lines, such as its carbon dioxide (CO2) business, and is planning to grow into further regions. The company now has operational production and distribution sites in 12 countries, including Austria, Turkey, Egypt and Syria.
His new role will seek to consolidate the company’s recent expansions and the development of new service offerings.
Amer Huneidi, Chairman of Gulf Cryo, enthused, ““I am delighted that Gulf Cryo will be able to benefit from Mike’s considerable experience as we look to enhance our position as the progressive leader in the supply of industrial gases across the Middle East, whilst maintaining the family values that have served us and our customers so well over our 60 plus years operating in this geography.”
He replaces previous CEO Naji Skaf, who has moved to work directly for the company Chairman on a number of strategic projects.
Gulf Cryo continues to build its presence in the emerging Turkish market after its recent acquisition of Yaliz Gaz, a leading local industrial gas company with a well-established network in the Marmara region.
Month on month the gasworld website continues to be the primary portal for information, on a global scale, about our industry - be it through the provision of news and features, or information in the expansive company directory section. Launched in 2004, it is the only independent online news provider and information portal for the global industrial gas community and the larger end-user markets. The website also now incorporates news for gasworld US and Specialty Gas Report.
