For the first time in its 73-year history, Hannover Messe will hold a two-day digital event next month based around the key theme of industrial transformation.

Industry 5.0, artificial intelligence, 5G, smart energy and logistics 4.0 will be the focus of discussions during Hannover Messe Digital Days, set to take place on 14th-15th July.

“With the Digital Days, we are creating an online platform for the entire Hannover Messe community. We had to cancel the show this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, but people still need to learn about the latest technological products and solutions and to talk with experts from all over the world,” said Dr. Jochen Köckler, Chairman of the Managing Board, Deutsche Messe.

“Tomorrow’s innovations are only possible when different industries and cultures exchange ideas.”

One of the biggest highlights of Hannover Messe Digital Days is the Hermes Award ceremony. For the first time, this internationally coveted technology prize will be awarded digitally. The winner will be announced on 14th July.

Deutsche Messe announced at the end of March it would not be holding Hannover Messe this year.

In a statement, the organiser said comprehensive travel restrictions, bans on group gatherings and a prohibition decree in the Hanover region made it impossible to stage the world’s leading trade fair for industrial technology.
