Hydroco’s Mobile Pipeline Division is an authorised dealer for CATEC™ Type-IV tube trailers, which are manufactured by Composite Advanced Technologies. CATEC™ trailers are approved for use with helium, hydrogen, methane (CNG/RNG), nitrogen, neon, and argon at 4,000 PSI (275 Bar) by the DOT. CATEC™ Type-IV tube trailers contain Type-4 cylinders, which are composite cylinders that utilize a plastic liner, wrapped in a composite material. Type-IV cylinders are substantially lighter than Type-I cylinders and can achieve higher operating pressures than Type-I steel cylinders. The substantial weight reduction can be attributed to the materials used to construct Type-IV cylinders.

The CATEC™ Type-IV tube trailer line includes five standard units, designed to transport large volumes of gas while prioritising safety. CATEC Type-IV cylinders feature a wider cylinder neck than any other product on the market, enabling fast and consistent decanting or unloading. The CT-140 is a compact composite tube trailer that can go where other tube trailers cannot. The CT-140 is a single axle 15-foot trailer that contains four Type-IV composite cylinders. The CT-140 features a rear control panel and is towable by either a semi-truck or a heavy-duty pickup. The CT-140 is designed to transport 121,000 Scf (Standard Cubic Foot ) of natural gas or 90,600 Scf of helium and operate at up to 4,000 PSI.  

The CT-290 is a dual axle 30-foot trailer that contains four 25’ Type-IV composite cylinders. The CT-290 features a rear control panel and towable by semi-truck. Additionally, the CT-290 can transport up to 284,020 Scf of natural gas or 213,848 Scf of helium at 4,000 PSI. The CT-420 is a 40-foot trailer that contains four 25’ Type-IV composite cylinders and four 11’ Type-IV composite cylinders. The CT-420 features a central control panel and is towable by semi-truck. The CT-420 can transport 405,000 Scf of natural gas or 304,460 Scf of helium and is designed to operate at up to 4,000 PSI. The CT-420 can be customised with either a dual axle or tri-axle and a middle fill panel or rear fill panel.  

Hydroco’s second-largest unit, the CT-520, is a 53-foot trailer containing seven 25’ Type-IV composite cylinders. The CT-520 features a control panel that is located in the middle of the unit and can be towed by semi-truck. The CT-520 is capable of transporting up to 513,726 Scf of natural gas or 374,234 Scf of helium. The CT-520 is designed to operate at up to 4,000 PSI and can be outfitted with either a dual axle or tri-axle and a middle fill panel or rear fill panel. The CT-590 is 53-foot trailer that contains eight 25’ Type-IV composite cylinders.

The largest gas transport trailer on the market, the CT-590, features a control panel located in the middle of the unit and is designed to be towed by semi-truck. The CT-590 can transport up to 587,000 Scf of natural gas or 427,696 Scf of helium. The CT-590 is designed to operate at up to 4,000 PSI and can be outfitted with either a dual axle or tri-axle and a middle fill panel or rear fill panel. Standard features include a pneumatic control panel, electronic stability control, and customer-specified fill connections.
