Helium mobile pipeline

Historically, steel tube trailers have been the only choice for transporting bulk quantities of compressed gasses. However, advances in composite technologies have made it possible to utilise composite cylinders that are considerably lighter than Type-I tube trailers. Steel tube trailers limit operational efficiencies due to the weight of the cylinders themselves and low operating pressures. Advances in composite cylinders have created an opportunity for helium producers and distributors to deliver more volume than ever before.

Typically, mobile pipelines are used to transport large quantities of natural gas to locations that do not have access to a physical pipeline. Hydroco identified the need for efficient bulk helium transportation and began working with helium producers and distributors to develop safe solutions that increase their transportation capabilities while reducing the cost per delivered unit. CATEC™ Type-IV tube trailers are a revolutionary product and are currently the highest capacity tube trailers available in the US. A single Type-IV mobile pipeline trailer can transport up to 2.5 times more product per truckload than the most massive Type-I tube trailers while remaining compliant with United States Department of Transportation (DOT) weight restrictions.

Hydroco, with headquarters in Oxford, Mississippi, is a diversified hydrogen gas distributor and multi-gas transport dealer active in the hydrogen, helium, and natural gas markets. Hydroco is committed to providing long-lasting, safe, and sustainable solutions that support communities and increase efficiency.
