The Hellma Group, a leading manufacturer of optical solutions and components for the process industries and research and analytical laboratories, has concluded an agreement to acquire the assets of Axiom Analytical Inc.

The acquisition will form the world’s leading supplier of optical precision modules for online spectroscopy in the field of process industries.

It also marks an important milestone in the journey to prominence of the Hellma Group, as Lutz Mayer – CEO of Hellma Holding GmbH – explained, “This transaction will represent an important milestone within our company’s history which aims at further developing our market shares by solutions that fit our customers‘ applications accurately.”

“Moreover, it will offer great potential for more innovative products for the analytics business sector.”

Holm Kändler, President of the newly established Hellma Axiom Inc., added, “With the Axiom Analytical acquisition we will ensure profitability in the industrial sector of the Hellma Group and in addition will focus more on industrial trends such as the increasing automation and growing quality requirements.”

Unchanged

Axiom Analytical was founded in 1988 by Dr. Mike Doyle and Norm Jennings, pioneers in the field of process Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy.

The company’s mission at its inception, was to develop and manufacture the robust sample interfacing equipment required to fully realise the potential of vibrational spectroscopy for industrial near–line and on–line chemical analysis.

Ensuring continuity, Jennings and Dr. Doyle will work as consultants for the newly established Hellma Axiom Inc., while the company’s location in Tustin, California will also remain unchanged.

Dr. Doyle said of the acquisition, “The Hellma Group and Axiom Analytical are a perfect match. The combination will enable on the one hand the strategic expansion of our business and the continuation of the past decades’ successful activities. On the other hand, customers all over the world will now have access to products and know-how from the two strongest companies within this market. This is truly unique and will create major synergies.”

The Hellma Group has been able to implement several successful transactions in recent years and confirmed that, based upon this experience, a team of representatives from both companies will control this integration process again on this occasion.
