High Pressure Equipment Company (HiP), a premium supplier of high pressure valves, fitting and tubings, has developed a line of standard and custom valves and fittings specifically designed for cryogenic and extreme heat environments.
For use in these testing conditions, HiP has incorporated an extended stuffing box design with fins around the packing area, providing necessary distance and dissipating the temperatures from hot and cold zones for safe and reliable operation.
The valves are available in both manual and air operated configurations for pressures ranging from 10,000-30,000 pounds per square inch (psi).
They feature coned-and-threaded connections to provide extra dependability and are manufactured in either Monel or Hastelloy.
“Gases like nitrogen (N2), argon (Ar) and hydrogen (H2) present unique challenges that demand special gas handling components, like HiP’s extreme temperature valves,” said a spokesperson from the US-based company. “Our new extreme temperature valves are ideal for challenging applications like moving specialty gases.”
HiP, founded in 1954 and based in Pennsylvania, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of specialised valves, fittings, tubing and customised products with pressure ratings up to 150,000 psi. HiP’s products are used across industrial gas, oil and gas exploration and chemical applications.
The emergence and adoption of LNG as a fuel has undoubtedly provided those in the cryogenic equipment manufacturing industry with a boom in business considering cryogenic equipment is essential to ship the product worldwide by road, rail and sea.
Valve specialist Parker Bestobell Marine has secured another major new order for its cryogenic valves, supplying the first ever globe valves featuring electric actuators to liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers.
