Hitachi wins first denitrification equipment order from Polish power company

Hitachi, Ltd, together with Poland-based construction company Energomontaz Polnoc S.A. (EMP), has won an order to supply denitrification equipment to Vattenfall Heat Poland S.A, a subsidiary of Vattenfall AB in Sweden.

The denitrification equipment, which removes nitrous oxide (NOx) from flue gas, is for the No. 10, 11, 14 and 15 units of the Siekierki Combined Heat and Power Plant operating on the outskirts of Warsaw, Poland.

The denitrification equipment is the first to be supplied under a denitrification equipment contract to a Polish power company.

The order is worth approximately ¥4bn, and plans call for the taking over progressively from 2012, the press release from Hitachi Europe Ltd explains.
