It was announced today that Honeywell’s cloud based Enraf Inventory Calculation Module (HEICM) has been selected by leading independent tank storage company Royal Vopak for integration within its MyService Terminal Management System (TMS).
Vopak terminals use MyService, developed in cooperation with Royal Vopak, to facilitate processes associated with bulk liquid products and gases including efficient and safe storage and handling.
HEICM works by accurately calculating inventories and product movement quantities for a range of liquid products stored at the sites.
Honeywell has ensured that calculations provided by HEICM meet all international and recognised standards, including those of American Society for Testing and Materials, American Petroleum Institute and Gas Processors Association.
Speaking about the integration, Leo Brand, CIO, Royal Vopak, said, “Integrating Honeywell’s measurement modules with our bespoke MyService software is creating a competitive advantage for Vopak’s services.”
“Honeywell’s legal metrology expertise and long experience providing compliant, accurate liquid stock accounting made it an ideal partner for our digital transformation program.”
The consistency and efficiency of Royal Vopak’s terminal inventory calculations and compliance-related verifications will be improved by the use of HEICM.
Rudi van der Kraats, Director Strategic Terminal Accounts, Honeywell Process Solutions, commented on the development, saying, “We’re pleased our work with Royal Vopak on the HEICM development resulted in a comprehensive calculation engine tailored for the terminal market.”
“Software-driven, intelligent technologies such as HEICM are part of our strategy to provide a full terminal automation solution.”
In addition to permitting use of HEICM to terminal operating companies globally, Honeywell is also intending to provide a stand-alone/cloud version which will be available for use only to independent surveyors.
