Hydrogen buses unveiled

SeaWorld plans to unveil 2 new, hydrogen-fuelled shuttle buses as part of its newest conservation programme at its theme parks in the US, another demonstration of the increasing outreach of the clean, green, efficient technology.

The vehicles will transport park guests and employees between SeaWorld’s 3 theme parks SeaWorld, Discovery Cove and Aquatica. The shuttle buses are part of a pilot program involving the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, the Ford Motor Co, Chevron Technology Ventures and Progress Energy. During the programme, data will be collected from the SeaWorld vehicles to evaluate efficiency and the best applications for hydrogen-fuelled vehicles.

SeaWorld used the vehicles for the first time on 20th February, when a team of employees will travel to Osceola County to clean up the banks of Shingle Creek.
